Social Butterfly-(Digital Design for Social Media) with Naelis Ervin, Theatre Arts Teacher 
Details: Naelis Ervin is a Theatre Arts teacher in Washington, DC but most importantly, she's an Arts Advocate and Arts Activist. Her love for teaching allows her to nurture creative minds of all ages. This 30-minute creative session is great for students ages 13 and up. Join us as we use custom social media templates to design digital stories. Access to WIFI and Google Docs needed.

Pattern Printmaking with Jenn Todd Lavanish, Artist and Art Instructor
Details: Learn some beginning printmaking techniques with items you have around the house. Make homemade stampers to create patterned paper and create a monoprint using tinfoil.
Materials: 
Any of the following- all is not necessary:
Paper about 5x7 in size
Acrylic paints - black, white and a few other colors (little bottle kind will do)
Paper towels, Stampers/ ink, Wash paint brushes, Aluminum foil, Qtips Or #2 pencil with eraser, Wine cork, Apple or potato, Small pieces of cardboard, Glue or hot glue, Styrofoam meat tray, Brayer, CD, Styrofoam cup, Toilet paper roll, Saran Wrap, Bubble wrap, Yarn
And a good imagination- for the list can keep going!!!!

Make Your Own Puffy Paint with Ms. Tracy
Materials Needed:
3 tablespoons flour
3 tablespoons salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
9 tablespoons water
food coloring
1 medium bowl to mix - smaller bowls for each color
q-tips or paint brushes
paper to paint on - thicker paper works better but use what you have
*** adult supervision for use of microwave when painting is done



Tie-Dye

How to Make a Tie-Dye Heart with Erin Cassell, owner of Roll Up N Dye tie-dying workshop
Materials needed: t-shirt, gloves, safe space to tie-dye (and adult supervision), rubber bands/sinew/floss, washable marker to mark your shape, heart or circle stencil, and dye
If you are using a t-shirt from a tie-dying kit, wear gloves. If you are using a t-shirt from home, get it damp first to make the folds easier.

Materials Needed:
1 or more T-shirts that you are allowed to cut up
Fabric scissors
Medium sized Safety pin
Crayons, colored pencils, or markers
3 sheets of Light colored 8 1/2” x 11” card stock is preferable. However, copy paper will work too

Crochet Amigurumi Ball with Jolene Mosley
Materials needed: yarn and a crochet hook that matches the yarn size (read the yarn ball band to see the suggested size hook. If you go down a size crochet hook, that is ok as well and it will make a tighter fabric. You will also need a little something to stuff your ball with. You could use filling or some strips of cloth.

Project 1-
  • Light colored reusable shopping/tote bag (will be turned inside out and decorated)
  • Hogwarts castle print out
  • Scissors
  • Markers, paint, crayons, whatever you have available to decorate your bag
  • Cardboard or newspaper to put inside bag while decorating
Project 2-
  • Stickers (these can definitely be all those free stickers you've collected! Let's use them all!!!)
  • Alphabet stencils (or can be hand drawn)
  • Scissors
  • Light switch cover (with parent permission)
