OMO continues our goal of building relationships through learning by connecting students and families with academic support, free tutors, and learning teams.
OM Learning Teams
The Oakland Mills Learning Team Network is reaching out to parents and students in our community who are interested in connecting with each other to form small learning or social groups.
These groups will be organized similar to a scout troop model: we will maintain a master list of interested families, but groups will be managed by a volunteer grade-level facilitator. Each small group will work together to establish its own schedule. Facilitators will work with families in their selected grade levels to form small groups, but are not expected to manage scheduling, etc., for each group.
We are also collecting names of volunteers, including high school students, parents, and former teachers, willing to serve as free tutors for learning teams upon request. Note: For now the facilitators are coordinating only for OMHS/OMMS feeder schools' students.

Volunteerism is the foundation on which the organization is built and it is the consistency of an adult relationship that the volunteers bring that is the crucial ingredient to helping the students served succeed in schoo Our Students
