WOMEN'S RENEWAL RETREAT
-Weekend Getaway-

REST ~ RENEWAL ~ RECONNECTION

Picture
Are you ready for the 4th ANNUAL OMO WOMEN'S RETREAT?

These retreats are an opportunity for women to:
  • focus on their own wants and needs
  • build friendships and connections with women they may not see in everyday life
  • broaden their understanding of mental, emotional, and physical health through dynamic workshops led by women in the OMO community.

This all-inclusive weekend is for women who prioritize restorative self-care. It's for those who value both togetherness and quiet. You will have an opportunity to connect with others as much as or as little as you prefer.

Everything is included; there is no need for you to cook or clean or take care of anyone other than yourself.

Just awesome!   ~May 2022 attendee

Workshops will be offered throughout the weekend. Topics covered include:
Re-igniting our inner selves:
  • Working toward becoming your version of your best self takes reflection and sometimes also benefits from being sparked by a fascinating workshop or thought-provoking conversation.  During all aspects of the retreat, we offer a variety of experiences for you to reconnect with your inner self and her wants, needs, and goals for the future.
Renewing ourselves:
  • Self-care is healthcare.
You'll have the opportunity to treat yourself as you need to be treated, with space to explore art therapy, learn self-care tips, or take time to just be still and do nothing.
Reconnecting with community:
  • Women thrive in spaces where they feel seen, heard, and understood.
Whether you are a repeat retreat attendee or new, our goal is for you to find others that help you process feelings and realize your needs, goals, and wants (from the simple to the life-changing)

Workshop options will be announced soon.
Each retreat is unique because we build the sessions around what's important to women in this moment based on what we're hearing from the women in our circles. Our first retreat in 2021 addressed the feelings (isolation, grief, anxiety, along with joy to be gathering again) brought on by the pandemic. Last year's retreat focused on Michelle Obama's The Light We Carry and how to nurture our own lights.

The OMO community is full of amazing leaders; women who are willing to share their gifts and knowledge to help others. All session leaders are volunteers, giving of their time and knowledge. At past retreats, we've been fortunate to have a doctor who specializes in menopause speak with us, a therapist who specializes in grief guide us through exercises, a physical therapist demonstrate pelvic floor exercises, and an art teacher show us the healing benefits of art practices.

We chose the Bon Secours Retreat Center because of its integration in the beauty of  nature, recently renovated facilities, affordability, great food, and convenience for us in Howard County. The extensive grounds of Bon Secours are open for you to explore alone or with others. The renovated, private rooms are fully stocked with everything you need, and rooms are even TV-free, so you can take a break from screens. With cozy meeting rooms, meditative spaces like the Labyrinth and Peace Garden, and quiet private rooms, our retreat group will have the space we need to laugh, to learn, and to just be.

Bon Secours is an independent organization separate from the Catholic Church, no funding goes to nor is provided by the Church. Bon Secours follows the same tenet as OMO: ALL ARE WELCOME; they host non-religious groups like ours as well as groups from other religions.
An amazing weekend of connecting with other women, learning, and taking time to do exactly what you want and need to do

How did you feel supported at the retreat?
-Welcoming, options and flexibility
-Active listening and sharing at large group sharing journaling times
-Welcoming atmosphere with no pressure to participate
-Many of the individual one-on-one conversations were super affirming.
-The four agreements set the stage for really open and honest conversations
-Mind, body and spirit - the support that comes from being in community with women - we are not alone - the shared knowledge, comfort, peace . . . it all fills me up

~responses from attendees of the May 2022 retreat
