REACH Intergenerational Leadership Program
Relating, Expanding, Achieving, Challenging, Helping
Amy Brooks and Stephanie Wall have created a new women-centered initiative in our community with women living or working in Howard County coming together to learn and grow from one another!
The REACH Intergenerational Leadership Program allows young women who are interested in “rising” up to positions of leadership as a public servant (government/related fields) to connect with women who are already “representing” us in those spaces. Finally, our matriarchs, the women who have been our leaders for decades, will share the lessons they have learned after “reflecting” on their experiences and the state of the world today.
This collaborative effort will enrich the lives of all who participate. This is not a “top-down” mentoring program. Instead, we will be co-creators through our collaborative planning and action steps. The goal of our gathering is to learn and lead together in a mutually uplifting effort to improve our community and to create stronger leaders for today and tomorrow.
Our current REACH Pilot Program is by invitation only and will begin February 27, and will also meet on March 27, and April 24. Attendees will use Lead From the Outside by Stacey Abrams as a focus for discussion.
Categories of Leaders included in this initiative:
Rising- someone working through school and looking forward to a career/role in government or business (high school/college; approx. 16-22)
Representing- someone currently employed in business or government
Reflecting- someone who is retired after a career or leadership in government/business
