How-To Guide for Presenters

Thanks for volunteering to lead a session!
The video guide and checklist below are here to help you prepare.

Presenter's Checklist

We really appreciate you helping OMO by being a presenter!

Here’s what you’ll need to do before your workshop:
  • Plan for 30-45 mins of engagement which may include
    • Introduction (less than five minutes)
    • Present concept, skill, or idea
    • Ask participants questions to get to know them better; preferably things they can easily answer in the chat or by show of hands
    • Answer questions from from chat/individuals
    • Ask participants to share their work, art, ideas, etc from the workshop

Here’s what you’ll need to do during your workshop:
  • Click on your workshop’s Zoom link (from your confirmation email, the OMO website, or FB page) 5 mins before the session is scheduled to start.
  • Practice using the basic tools with the moderator, such as screen sharing or adjust camera or audio volume
  • You can talk privately with the moderator before the moderator lets in participants, but please refrain from off-topic conversation once participants are let into the workshop.
  • Have fun and show what you know! Your moderator will help you field questions and deal with tech issues.
  • Sessions typically start 2-5 minutes after the hour to give us time to go over rules and tips for using Zoom
  • Your OMO moderator will introduce you, then you can provide an interesting fact to help the attendees get to know you
